Who runs this site

What is stored in your browser

Pickers does not set cookies. It uses your browser’s storage for:

• Your privacy choice, so we don’t ask on every visit (strictly necessary).
• Preferences and lists: region, streaming services, filters, My list, titles you loved, titles you marked as watched, and a simple count of which genres and types you filter by. These power the “Picked for you” and “We think you might like” sections.

If you choose Allow & remember, these are kept on your device (localStorage) until you clear them. If you choose Essential only, they are kept only for the current tab (sessionStorage) and disappear when you close it. Nothing is kept before you choose.

Recommendations are worked out in your browser and on our server for each request; we do not keep a profile of you. To fetch results, your browser sends our server the filters and title IDs needed for that request (for example the services you picked or the titles you loved). These requests and their results may be cached so pages load faster, but they are not linked to you.

Third parties

• TMDB (The Movie Database) supplies titles, images and streaming availability. Posters and logos load directly from TMDB’s image servers, which see your IP address like any website you load images from. See TMDB’s privacy policy.
• JustWatch provides the “where to watch” data via TMDB. Following a JustWatch link takes you to their site and their privacy policy.
• YouTube trailers use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode and only load when you press play. If you chose essential only, we ask before loading them. YouTube may store data in your browser once a trailer plays.
• Hosting: our hosting provider serves the site and keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and reliability, under their retention policy.

Fonts are hosted by us, so no requests go to Google Fonts.

Legal basis

Remembering your choices between visits relies on your consent, which you can change at any time under Cookie settings. Server logs are kept under our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working.

Your rights

Because your data lives in your browser, you can view, change or delete it yourself: use the controls in the sidebar, Clear my data, or your browser’s settings. Under UK and EU data protection law you also have rights to access, correct, erase or object to the processing of personal data. Contact rethan348@gmail.comto exercise them. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.

If this notice changes in a way that affects your choices, we’ll ask you again.
